Nurses Pinning Ceremony

The Pinning Ceremony is designed to mark the inclusion of students in the greater community of professional nursing. Each BSN degree candidate is recognized and presented with a nursing pin unique to BJU’s nursing program. The Ceremony includes the Lighting of the Lamps and the reciting of the Nurse’s Pledge, both tributes to Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

The School of Theology and Global Leadership celebration includes a charge from the faculty to the graduating class, a servant-leadership ceremony, program awards, and a reception for family and friends.

Criminal Justice Challenge Coin Ceremony
4:00 p.m.
The Criminal Justice Challenge Coin Ceremony commemorates the accomplishments of the graduating class and recognizes their camaraderie in becoming BJU alumni. Each Criminal Justice degree candidate is recognized and presented with a coin designed with a distinctive heraldry.

Founder's Memorial Amphitorium
This event is a combination worship service and an opportunity to honor the graduating class, including graduate students. Special recognition is given to first generation and legacy graduates — those with at least one parent or guardian who graduated from BJU — by awarding cords or medallions to wear with academic regalia at Commencement. Tribute is also given to students receiving more than one degree.
